Fruit Paradise

I had seen the pretty fruit tarts on display at Fruit Paradise for quite a while but I never got around to buying them. Today Pooh Bear and I visited their outlet at VivoCity to try their tarts.

Coffee pear tart

We ordered the Coffee Pear Tart ($6.80 before tax). The chef had formed a pear at the top of the tart using coffee cream and surrounding it with pear slices. A stalk made of chocolate completed the look. At first glance, Pooh Bear and I thought that it was a real pear. The tart was quite nice and the cream was not too rich or heavy. I liked the crust which was a little sweet and crunchy like a biscuit.

Chocolate banana tart

After we finished the Coffee Pear Tart, we decided that it wasn’t enough so we ordered another tart. We had the Chocolate Banana Tart ($6.80 before tax) which looked like a little mountain on our plate. There was a generous amount of fresh bananas in the tart but I felt that there was not enough chocolate to balance the bananas. Like the Coffee Pear Tart, the crust was nice and crunchy.

I’m not sure if it was because we ate it first but both Pooh Bear and I like the Coffee Pear Tart more.
