Reunion lunch

When I got up in the morning, I went into the kitchen and found mother busy chopping fruits. She was making a fruit salad for the reunion lunch later. When it was noon, we took two containers out from the fridge – the meatballs and the fruit salad and left for my uncle’s house. There was so much food that there was barely enough space for our plates on the table  and we had to take turns to eat because the dining table was not big enough for all of us. A cousin said that there were so many dishes that after she took a mouthful of each dish, she was already full. But methinks she’s a small eater, unlike me. I went for two rounds and then I too had to throw in the towel. There were:

  • fried rice
  • prawns
  • stuff turkey breast
  • roast beef
  • meatballs in tomato sauce
  • cauliflower and carrots
  • sausages
  • dumplings
  • fruit salad
  • strawberry cheesecake

Meatball

Apparently mother had told everyone that I was making meatballs because my auntie urged her children to try and the second youngest one said it was good. My two aunts liked the meatballs and I overheard my uncle said that it was “开胃” (appetizing). I’m glad they liked it.
