Two Bakers opened in the Jalan Besar hippie area last year. I passed by it in the afternoon and it seemed that business was doing well. Like most of the other cafes in the area, it was filled with customers. It was an encouraging sign as it meant that the food should be of some standard.
There was a display case filled with beautiful delicate-looking cakes and pastries, making it a feast for the eyes. I bought a chocolate eclair and salted caramel eclair ($5.50 each). Both of them had shiny metallic bits on top, making them looked rather luxurious.
The chocolate eclair was filled with dark chocolate cream while the caramel eclair was filled with a mix of caramel and mascarpone. Both were nice but I preferred the chocolate eclair as I found the taste of caramel as bit boring after a while.
