Can’t really call it cafe hop because not all the places are cafes. We visited three places today:
Tendon Ginza Itsuki
I’m the only one who had eaten at this restaurant before. For everyone else, it was their first time trying the food at this restaurant. And everyone loved it, even the one who had sore throat said the food was worth it.

Drury Lane Cafe
Drury Lane Cafe is in a red shophouse so it’s pretty easy to spot. The ground floor is only high tables and bar stools so most customers go up the the second floor which had proper tables and chairs.
I had a latte which was pretty nice.
A friend had the cold coffee which she said was good. It came in a cute little milk bottle.
The cold chocolate ($4.50) was good. It was thick and very chocolatey.
The strawberry and banana smoothie ($5) also came in a small bottle. It was thick and tasted fruity.
We ordered the Creamy Salted Egg Yolk Eggs Benedict with Grilled Prawns ($17). The eggs were nicely poached and looked like the other half of the mantou (Chinese steamed buns) it was sitting on. There was also a grilled prawn and kale sitting on the mantou. All of this was drizzled with a garlicky salted egg yolk sauce.
The ingredients in this dish were good; the eggs were good, the prawns were plump and fresh, the mantou was soft and had a slight sweetness. However putting all of them together didn’t work. It tasted like I was eating a Chinese zi char. One friend complained that the sauce didn’t have a strong salted egg taste. Even though the salted egg flavor wasn’t strong, I enjoyed eating the diced garlic in the sauce.
The Creme Brulee French Toast with Nutella ($10) was more popular. It could do with more nutella but I say that for everything.
Mei Heong Yuen Dessert (味香园甜品)
Lastly we had dessert at Mei Heong Yuen Dessert. It served traditional Chinese desserts as well as the more modern snow ice.
The desserts were good. I saw many locals and tourists enjoying the cold desserts, while some older folks preferred the hot desserts despite the hot, humid weather.
